ABOUT KARI

Swedish mezzo-soprano Kari Koskinen, from Dalarna, is an emerging artist active on leading Swedish stages. Recent and forthcoming engagements include Milly (Der ferne Klang), Flower Girl (Parsifal), and Dryad (Ariadne auf Naxos) at the Royal Swedish Opera, as well as Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte) at Folkoperan Stockholm, Uppsala Stadsteater, and Opera på Skäret. She has also appeared in concert as mezzo soloist in Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium with Dalasinfoniettan.

Kari made her operatic debut in 2019 and is a recipient of the Joel Berglund Scholarship, along with awards from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and the Erik Grudd Foundation. She completed her studies at the Department of Opera, Stockholm University of the Arts in 2023, where her roles included Carmen, The Witch (Hänsel und Gretel), Madame de la Haltière (Cendrillon), and The Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas).
