ABOUT TESSAN-MARIA
Tessan-Maria Lehmussaari is a Finnish–Swedish soprano from Stockholm, emerging as a distinctive voice on the Scandinavian operatic scene. Recent and forthcoming engagements include Zerlina (Don Giovanni) for Den Jyske Opera, Elsalill in Nordahl’s Herr Arnes Pennigar at Folkoperan Stockholm, Klara in Andrea Tarrodi’s new children’s opera Vilse for Unga Operan at the Royal Swedish Opera, and solo appearances in works such as Erik Satie’s Socrate and Johannes Pollak’s De som kom över havet .
She has appeared as Despina (Così fan tutte) for Uppsala Stadsteater/Folkoperan, Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw) at Folkoperan Stockholm, Witch/Dama (Macbeth) at Läckö Slott Opera, as well as Dorine (Tartuffe) at Norrlandsoperan. Concert highlights include projects at Confidencen Theatre and collaborations with leading Swedish orchestras.
A recipient of the 2020 Jenny Lind Stipend from the Royal Swedish Music Academy, Tessan-Maria completed her studies at the University College of Opera in Stockholm, where she studied with Anita Soldh.
