ABOUT DARA
Estonian mezzo-soprano Dara Savinova has rapidly established an international profile, praised for her agile mezzo-coloratura, expressive stage presence, and stylistic precision. A former member of the International Opera Studio at Opernhaus Zürich and the Salzburg Festival Young Artist Project, she appears regularly on major European stages.
Recent and forthcoming engagements include Irene (Tamerlano) and Juno (Semele) for the International Händel-Festspiele Göttingen, Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia) at the Royal Swedish Opera, and Bach’s B minor Mass for the Montreal Bach Festival and with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon. Her recent operatic highlights also include Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) at Staatstheater Klagenfurt and Staatsoper Hannover, Der Komponist (Ariadne auf Naxos) at Theater Detmold, and Angelina (La Cenerentola) in Stockholm.
A sought-after interpreter of Baroque repertoire, Dara has appeared at Theater an der Wien, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and Innsbrucker Festwochen. She is a prize-winner of the José Carreras Grand Prix and a graduate of the Mozarteum Salzburg.
