ABOUT SIV
Norwegian mezzo-soprano Siv Misund is recognised for the richness and power of her dramatic voice and a commanding stage presence. Forthcoming and forthcoming engagements include Carmen for Den Jyske Opera, Ulrica (Un ballo in maschera) for Opera På Skäret, Azucena (Il trovatore) for Kristiansund Opera, Mary (Der fliegende Holländer) for Opera Østfold, and Kommandant C in Bertil Palmar Johansen’s Cella Mi for Opera Trøndelag.
She made her breakthrough as Amneris (Aida) with Oscarsborg Operaen, followed by acclaimed debuts as Eboli (Don Carlo), Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana), and Azucena, earning strong critical praise for her Verdian and verismo repertoire. Her roles also include Ulrica, Zia Principessa, Frugola, Flosshilde, and Zita, with appearances for Bergen National Opera, North Norwegian Opera and Symphony Orchestra, and Oslo Opera Festival.
An active concert and recital artist, Siv champions new and rediscovered song repertoire. She holds an MFA from the Norwegian Academy of Music and is a prize-winner of the Fulham Opera Robert Presley Memorial Verdi Prize.
