ABOUT KARIN
Karin Blom is a Swedish full-lyric soprano who in recent years has distinguished herself by appearing in a range of challenging and interesting repertoire, and receiving several prestigious awards and scholarships.
Forthcoming she sings the role of Ellen Key in the opera show Strindberg vs Key at Strindbergs Intima Teater in Stockholm. During the summers of 2024 and 2025, Karin performed in three productions at the Vadstena Academy, where she portrayed Mrs X in Den Starkare by Margareta Hallin, Apelle in Luigi Mancia’s Alessandro in Susa, and Louise and Karolina in the world premiere of Fotografen by Anna Einarsson.
She studied at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien, where she was a student of KS Prof. Linda Watson. Previous studies include the Vadstena Academy of Singing and Piano and Birkagården Folk High School.
During her studies, Karin appeared at Theater Akzent in Vienna as Berta in Xavier Montsalvatge’s Babel 46 and as Second Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. At Bühne Baden, she sang the title role in Carmen für Kinder, and previous roles include Lizette in Cimarosa’s Il matrimonio segreto at MUK Theater in Vienna.
