ABOUT MARTA CECILIA
Lyric-dramatic soprano Marta Cecilia Saelöen is a Swedish singer from Landskrona, currently based in southern Sweden. She completed her soloist training at the School of Music and Opera at Mälardalen University, graduating in 2023, and has undertaken further studies at the Vadstena Academy and the Lachine International Vocal Academy in Montréal.
In 2024, Marta Cecilia joined the Malmö Opera Academy under the direction of Rickard Söderberg. Recent engagements include Alice Ford (Falstaff) on tour with Malmö Opera, First Edel Dame and cover Elsa (Lohengrin) at Malmö Opera, and upcoming appearances on the company’s main stage in gala and charity concerts. A notable recent highlight was the title role in Jan Sandström’s Stormen Betty, a new opera written specifically for her voice.
She has also appeared in Suor Angelica and Lidoine in Systrar at Västmanland Theatre, and performs regularly as a concert and church soloist with orchestras across Sweden. Marta Cecilia is a recipient of multiple Swedish scholarships and competition prizes, including awards from the Opera Society Friends of Skåne and the Wagner Society.
